Piece-rate pay,
done right.

Your karigars are paid per piece — but payout still runs on memory and a torn diary page, and every rejected piece turns into an argument. KarigarBook logs each karigar's output and hands you a clean payout, net of rejects and advances.

The Monday-morning fight

Today, payout is a memory test — and everyone loses.

A unit owner running 8 to 40 karigars on piece rates keeps the whole week in three fragile places: a WhatsApp group, a diary, and their own head. By payout day, none of them agree.

WhatsApp

"Bhaiya, I did 50, not 44"

Counts are shouted across a group chat all week. Nobody adds them up until Saturday, and by then the messages have scrolled away.

The diary

Ink that doesn't net out

The diary records pieces made, but not pieces rejected, and rarely the advance handed over on Tuesday. So the number in the book is never the number to pay.

Memory

Rejections become arguments

Was it 3 rejects or 5? Who decides the rate for the new dupatta design? Without a record, every dispute is one person's word against another's.

One wrong payout doesn't just cost money — it costs a karigar who walks to the unit down the lane.

The wedge

Piece rate is simple maths.
The mess is that nobody logs the pieces.

Log production once — per karigar, per work type — and the payout computes itself: (quantity minus rejects) times the piece rate, minus advances. No new habits for the karigars, no accountant for the owner. Just the one number that was always true, written down before the argument starts.

How it works

From bundle to payout, in four steps.

  1. 1

    Set your rates once

Add each work type — aari-work, booti, neckline, katori stitch — and the rate you pay per piece. Change it whenever a design changes.

  2. 2

Log production as it comes in

When a karigar hands over a bundle, tap in the quantity and any rejects. Ten seconds per entry, done at the table.

  3. 3

Record advances the moment you give them

Handed Rukmini Rs 1,200 on Tuesday? Note it against her name so it comes straight off Saturday's payout.

  4. 4

    Print the payout sheet

Weekly or monthly, KarigarBook hands you a per-karigar sheet with every line shown. Pay the net, no disputes.

What's inside

Everything the diary can't do.

Piece-rate ledger

Every bundle logged per karigar, per work type — a permanent record instead of a scrolling chat.

Auto payout maths

Payout = sum of (qty − rejected) × rate, minus advances. The calculation you do wrong at 9pm, done right instantly.

Per-karigar output

See who produced what over any period, so you know who to give the big order to next week.

Rejection rate tracking

A quiet quality report: which karigar and which work type send back the most rejects, in one glance.

Weekly / monthly payout sheet

A clean, printable sheet per karigar — every line shown, so the net is never questioned.

Owner's dashboard

This week's production value, your top karigars, and advances still outstanding — the whole unit on one screen.

A look inside

The whole unit, on one screen.

This is the owner's dashboard for a mid-size embroidery unit in Bhiwandi — real numbers, real names, Saturday morning.

Questions owners ask

Do my karigars need to install anything?

No. Only you, the owner, use KarigarBook. Karigars keep handing over bundles the way they always have — you log the count in seconds. Nothing changes on their side.

What if the same karigar does three different work types?

That's the point. Each work type has its own rate, and the payout sheet shows every line separately before it totals — aari-work at Rs 85, booti at Rs 40, and so on, all under one name.

Will it work without good internet in my unit?

Yes. You can log production offline and it syncs when you're back on network. Payout sheets print from your phone, no signal needed.

How much does KarigarBook cost?

Pricing is worked out on a quick discovery call and billed monthly on subscription. We're keeping public prices off the page while we onboard our first users.
