A result sheet maker for tuition & coaching classes that keeps your students' marks on your own computer

rankcard lets a tuition or coaching-class teacher type a whole class's test marks into one fast keyboard grid and get, for every student, a total, percentage, your grade, and rank — plus the class average and a one-page A4 result sheet to print for each parent. It is free, offline, and single-purpose: no account, no upload, no ERP.

Why not a spreadsheet or a browser result maker? Two reasons. First, your data stays yours: a class of children's names and marks lives in a file on your computer and is never uploaded or synced. Second, it persists — reopen last term's class next unit test and re-enter only the new marks; nothing is retyped. One-shot browser tools forget the roster the moment you refresh.

How the result sheet is worked out

Total is the sum of the marks you type (an absent paper counts as 0, labelled AB). Percentage is total ÷ total-max × 100, rounded to two decimals. The grade is read from your bands using that rounded percentage, so the number and the letter always agree. Rank is standard competition ranking on the total (ties share a rank; the next rank skips).

Worked example

A 3-subject test (each out of 100), grade bands 90=A+, 80=A, 70=B, 60=C, 50=D, 0=F:

StudentMathSciEngTotal%GradeRank
Asha90859527090.00A+1
Bala80887824682.00A2
Chitra88807824682.00A2
Dev60657019565.00C4
Esha45504013545.00F5

Class average 72.80% · Bala and Chitra tie at rank 2, so the next student is rank 4 — that is competition ranking.

What rankcard is not

It is not a marksheet, certificate, or official document; not a board or grading-policy tool (your bands, your pass marks); and not an ERP — no fees, attendance, timetable, logins, or messaging. It is a student result sheet maker in the plain sense of the phrase, but built around persistence and privacy rather than a one-time print.
