How does shelftrack decide an item is low on stock?

Every item has a reorder level you set. The moment its quantity is at or below that level, shelftrack shows a LOW badge and can float the item to the top of the list. Set the reorder level to the point where you would normally place a new order.

Where are the product photos stored, and will they fill up my phone?

Each photo is shrunk to about 320 pixels on its long edge and saved as a compact JPEG inside your browser's local storage on this device only. shelftrack shows a running storage estimate and warns you as you approach the browser limit, so a typical shop can keep a few hundred items comfortably.

Can I use shelftrack without a camera or on a desktop?

Yes. Adding a photo is optional, and the photo control uses a standard file input: on a phone it opens the camera, and on a desktop it opens a file picker. Items without a photo show a neat placeholder tile.

How do I move my stock list to a spreadsheet or accountant?

Use Export CSV. shelftrack writes a standards-compliant CSV with every item's name, quantity, reorder level, price, unit, and low-stock flag, safely escaping any commas, quotes, or line breaks in your names so it opens cleanly in any spreadsheet.

Is my inventory private?

Accepted Answer

Completely. shelftrack runs entirely in your browser and stores everything only in this device's local storage. A strict Content-Security-Policy blocks every network request, so nothing about your shop, prices, or photos is ever sent anywhere.
